Central Virginia Storage Facilities Respond to COVID-19
March 20, 2020
We are monitoring the situation with COVID-19.
To our valued Customers,
With the rapidly evolving coronavirus (COVID-19) situation, we at Central Virginia Storage are continuing to monitor developments with the guidance of public health authorities, including the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the World Health Organization (WHO) and the official statements and directives from Federal, State and County/City authorities.
What you can expect from us:
• We will make every effort to keep our properties operating as usual, to the extent possible while safeguarding the health and well-being of our Employees, Customers and Vendors as we comply with the directives of national, state, and local authorities.
• We will continue to welcome you to our properties, but at this time we’ve asked our Employees to refrain from shaking hands, etc. and whenever possible to maintain the recommended six foot distance from others, whenever possible. Please accept our temporary guidelines for safety including our greeting as an expression of our appreciation for your continued patronage and consideration for your safety as well.
• It may become necessary for us to reduce access to the office or reduce the office hours, limit the number of customers allowed in the office and on premises at any given time, or suspend access to all or parts of a storage facility, including the office, to deal with the potential impacts of the coronavirus outbreak, including possible changes in the U-Haul truck rental procedures.
• We will respect the privacy of anyone affected by the coronavirus and will not discriminate based on nationality, race, geographic origin, or medical condition.
• We continue to be guided by the advice and directions of public health authorities, the Federal, State and local authorities and the Self Storage Association and the Virginia Self Storage Association as we proceed forward.
Our requests of you:
• During these unprecedented and difficult times, we ask for your patience and understanding if we have to adjust our normal procedures to adapt to the ever-changing situation.
• If you are in a group the CDC has designated as high-risk, or you are otherwise concerned about contracting the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), we urge you to follow the advice of the public health authorities and make informed decisions about visiting public areas, including our locations, where you could be exposed to others who may possibly carry the virus. The CDC’s list of those at risk can be found here: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/specific-groups/high-risk-complications.html.
• We encourage you to use the various channels for interacting with us. All customers have access to their accounts through our website, centralvastorage.com, where they can review and manage their account and make online payments. In addition, customers can call their storage location’s office, where our team would be happy to assist you in making a payment via your credit card and/or be set up for monthly automatic payments. We continue to welcome check payments and are still honoring payments made by cash.
• We urge you, as a valued member of our mini storage family, to monitor the guidance of public health authorities and other sources of credible information. For your convenience, below are some references and resources for your consideration:
Thank you for being a part of our family. We look forward to continuing to meet your storage and truck rental needs.
